About DSM International Airport
Airport Management
The Des Moines International Airport is managed by Des Moines Airport Authority employees. Senior staff is composed of the following:
Donald L. Smithey, Executive Director
Mr. Smithey is responsible for oversight and management of all operations and activities of the Airport.
Kevin Foley, Assistant Executive Director & General Manager
Mr. Foley is responsible for oversight of all landside activities and related construction projects, including management of the terminal and support buildings, parking facilities, ground transportation, and rental car operations.
Kenneth McCoy, Director of Operations
Mr. McCoy is responsible for ensuring compliance with Federal aviation and security regulations related to the airfield, as well as overseeing all airfield maintenance and construction activities.
Brian Mulcahy, Director of Finance
Mr. Mulcahy is responsible for overseeing all aspects of finance and administration.
John Boehmer, Director of Engineering & Planning
Mr. Boehmer is responsible for managing all engineering projects and working with Airport Consultants.
